AN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF CONTEMPORARY QUILTS / CURATED BY NANCY CROW
Color Improvisations 2 is a special invitational exhibition of contemporary quilts curated by Nancy Crow, one of the most celebrated and influential quilt artists of the past forty years. Color Improvisations 2 includes 50 large, improvisational quilts by 43 artists from Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Scotland, and the United States. The exhibition opened at the Museum Tuch+Technik in Germany in March 2016.
Color Improvisations 2 would not have come into existence if not for the willpower and talents of Ginie Gurtze. Following travel in Europe, this extraordinary exhibition is now available to venues in North America. The current schedule is here.
The show will open in the Textile Museum of Canada on May 30, 2018. I have a piece in it called Salt And Pepper No. 2, I’ll Fly Away. As I made the piece I had a song running through my head. Listen here if you wish.
